How Often Do You Need Tolerance Breaks And Why?

<by foreign correspondent G3>

A tolerance break helps stoners from going overboard with their recreational smoking. Taking a sufficient break resets the user’s capacity to get stoned, which can affect the amount needed to get to that perfectly stoned state and level of HIGHNESS. This, of course doesn’t apply to medical cannabis users who need a regular dose daily, or as prescribed by their doctors.

We can say that taking tolerance breaks helps reset your receptors to a clean, blank slate. This makes the stoned state capacity go back to zero. The HIGHness levels we all goal for comes back when our receptors are back to square one, when all built up cannabinoids have been depleted and flushed out of our system. But the question everyone wants to ask is how long and how often you need it?

According to a study from The University Of Vermont, the recommended range is 21 days, should one decide to. On how often, this is also something that varies from person to person, and how often they smoke or partake. Stoners who don’t smoke daily and/or heavily may have balanced tolerance states that may not need it, or not need it as often.

But the real, general, universal answer is not definite. Many factors come into play here, such as the level of intake, the individual person’s capacity and sensitivity, the types and potencies of the flower/vape smoked, and other factors. There’s never a clear cut answer to each person’s level and how long they take for a full tolerance reset.

These factors have to be observed on an individual level to gauge and to know the variables. One smoker may smoke too heavily but regain a full tolerance break in a week. A moderate smoker may have very high tolerance levels, but take 3 weeks to do so, and so on. Everything depends on the personal individual’s levels and setting.

Why Reset Your Tolerance Levels?

There are also different reasons why people break and reset their tolerance. Some tokers want to experience the feeling of back-to-zero levels of highness frequently, and would take breaks weekly.

Some will go overboard on overtoking for months on end, and quit cold turkey for a month or two before going back to their routine. There are daily stoners who do it ever-so infrequently, while others take a few days breaks in between their regular moderate toking habits.

Many want to maximize their high, and use tolerance breaks so they can feel that back-to-zero reset as often as possible. Others do it for the same reason with the addition of practicality, saving money in the process by keeping their doses moderate in ratio to their use, being fresh out of a break and experiencing a heavier, more intense high with fewer amounts, as opposed to smoking even more to reach that plateau.

Others may not be able to toke as often as they can and want to. Life is complex, busy, and catches up soon enough, what with many other responsibilities. And when they do on their next toking session, the skipping, infrequent instances allow their tolerance levels to stay consistent, making their next tokes heavier and more potent. Again, everyone has different styles and settings based on personal experience and preference.
