[Selling stuff online comes with many caveats, mostly dealing with buyers and their annoying behaviours. While it’s true that it’s much more convenient because of non-customer facing advantages, the annoyance, confusion, and anger that stems from different types of buyers can cause massive headaches and cursing.
Remember, it’s not personal. Don’t get pissed off at once. Some people are just mentally limited, lazy, or born annoying. It comes with the trade.
You have to be an online seller to fully understand these kinds of dealings. These issues become compounded even more when you’re dealing with people from the Philippines (ha). Enjoy this pissed-off but informative article from our old friend and old dude Unkle F777 from the out of print version 2.0 of THC zine

TOP 5 Online Sellers’ Pet Peeves
Sure, being an online seller these days involves lots of patience and understanding. These qualities are essential when dealing with people. But these are qualities most people don’t have, because many buyers do not have manners or common sense to begin with. They are what you would consider bogus or patience-testing. They annoy and piss off many sellers with their attitudes and manners of operation.

Is This Available?
The conversation with these types of inquirers often do not progress after you answer them. They click on the “is this still available?” button or send you that question and ask away. You answer them, and they don’t answer again, 98% of the time.
Whether they made a mistake of pressing that button is another story. You answer again, “let me know if you want to buy it, or “which item or items do you want to buy?”, and they also do not answer anymore. Maybe their hand fell off, or they died while looking at your ad.
In some rare cases, they actually ask, and then follow up, and then buy the item, or items you have for sale. However, these legit buyers often make up the rest 2 or 3% of them.

Some of these bogus buyers do this after seeing a list of online sellers selling that one item they searched on Facebook marketplace, OLX, or carousell, or wherever. They compare prices and narrow down which of the listings are cheap and near their location. They don’t often have any intention of buying your damn item, they just annoy the F out of everyone and waste your time.
The best no-lose response is always yes. If they don’t reply anymore, you just saved yourself some headaches.
Sometimes, the inquiries progress, and they lead to the second type of bogus or irritating type of buyer:
Asking Too Many Questions
These inquirers often ask too many questions about the product, but are often mostly 80 to 90% not buying it, or are too indecisive. “Do you have more pics?”. “What’s the condition?”. Every detail is already there, and then they ask further: “Do you have this or so and so item? That’s what I am looking for”.
“B*tch, if I was selling that one specific item you’re looking for, then it would be on this here ad!”.

People Who Don’t Read
Which leads us to another worse type of inquirer, who are sometimes just clueless or very lazy, and may turn up to be an actual legit buyer. These people can’t be bothered to read the 2 short sentences that could have saved time for everyone involved.
How much is it? Look at the ad. What’s the condition? Look at the ad. Is it available? It’s on at the ad. Do you have (item that’s not on your ad)? LOOK AT THE Fn AD!@#$%^
Have the most up to date screenshot of your ad for sale saved, and when a potential buyer asks these stupid questions, send them the shot. If they ask again, send the same screenshot. Only commit once they have to money to pay.

Extreme Lowballers
The last two types of buyers are actual buyers, but with cheapass tactics that combine some of the worst behaviors and mental powers of the previous types of buyers above. You post an item for $10, and they message you out of nowhere with “mine. $2”. F off.
If they offer something like $7, $8 and it’s fair game, you can accept the lower offer, especially if your item for sale hasn’t moved in a long time. If your price is fair, and you want to stick to it, don’t compromise.

Extreme Resellers
All of us sellers are resellers, let’s be honest here. You bought that item, and you resell it with a higher price. Or you bought that item for your collection, and years later you sell it at a higher price because you need the money and its value went up.
But there are unfortunately some people who will lowball you like a politician and once they get it from you, you’ll see it online 5, 6, or 1000 times your original price. Just accept the fact and deal with it. Life is unfair and soon you’ll be dead, and that A-h0le will soon be dead too.
Make sure you check the price of your item(s), and its ratio to the condition and rarity. And then put a decent price where you don’t get ripped off, and it can sell easy.
Happy selling, suckers!
