Flying soon to a smartphone near you, or something
Whether you like it or not, Flappy Bird is poised for a grand comeback. Internet emotional trauma victim and one-time net celebrity extraordinaire Dong (“The Bird”) Nguyen has announced that he will bring his bird back to business to uh, take names, pillage towns and provide happy, mindless, err, flappy fun for your phones. It’s enough to wet the pants of the flappies out there.
Oddly enough, the news wasn’t posted on our main man Dong’s twitter page (user name: Dongatory). The news actually first came out on CNBC Reporter Kelly Evans’ twitter page, and set for an August release, or should we say, re-release. Dong promises us that the new release version would be less addictive and would feature multi-player options.
We can recall that sometime early this year, Nguyen decided to pull out the app, citing its highly addictive nature and some good old fashioned internet backlash as main reasons why he decided to end his highly lucrative, $50,000-a-day-generating game. It apparently was ruining his life despite all the overwhelming success.
It must be incredibly hard to deal with a life swimming in moolah for selling a game that provide mindless hours of uh, fun, spent on a bird flying around pipes and background sets that look like discarded pieces from any of the Super Mario Brothers game.
Look out for the big bird comeback this August, if you dare. Or care.
