Nissin Spicy Chicken Yakisoba x Ibumie Mi Goreng

Today in our series of cheap stoner foods for stoners on a budget: a feature/review on Nissin Spicy Chicken Yakisoba and also an obscure Mi Goreng brand, Ibumie. Ibumie Mi Goreng also has another word “Always” written above the brand, just to confuse stoned grocery goers, just for the F of it.

Remember: being a cheapskate will kill you with too much sodium and preservatives. But you also have to survive until the next payday. Good luck.

Nissin’s Spicy Chicken Yakisoba is a popular choice for those who want good instant noodles while still on the budget. Good Japanese style yakisoba noodles, spicy sweet chicken flavor, and meat and veggie bits all make this an instant hit.

At 8plus pesos to 9 pesos each, a few packs can serve 1 or few people depending on how much chow they eat, and it’s still cheap as hell. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Just like Indomie’s Mi Goreng or Lucky Me instant pancit canton, you can add an egg, and it becomes a complete meal: runny, well cooked, destroyded, or even scrambled (depends on your mood).

Ibumie “Always” Mi Goreng is one of the few obscure Mi Goreng noodles out there, and it seems they stay true (and safe) to the trademark instant Mi Goreng noodles style out there, right down to the flavor packs and the old school curly hair style noodles. Just like that weird “Always” written on the pack which might remind you of the song “Always” by Atlantic Starr – listen to it now or while eating (?).

Not better but not worse either compared to other popular non-Indomie noodles, and is a lil cheaper too, despite the knock-off name to lure Indomie fans. Remember the “Always”.

The problem right now is I forgot where I bought this in QC so a little hunting is needed. 4/5 stars.

yours truly, xoxo RX Z.
